Health coaching for chronic illness and chronic pain

Your illness didn't start the day it got a name.

It began years before, in the small signals you learned to live around. I help you understand the root of it, and build a life that works with your body, on your own terms.

Twenty minutes. It is free, and it commits you to nothing.

You're not imagining it

You've known something was wrong for a long time.

Living with chronic illness is more than managing symptoms. It is learning to live your days when your body keeps changing the rules, and most of the time no one around you really gets it.

  • You've been told your results look normal, while nothing feels normal.
  • You leave appointments with a plan, and no one asked what your life is actually like.
  • You're tired of explaining yourself just to be believed.
  • You're doing so much, and it still feels like it's never enough.
You don't have to carry this alone.

How coaching can help

Coaching isn't a list of rules to follow.

Your doctor gives you a diagnosis and a prescription for it. But between your symptoms and feeling better, there is a journey, and that journey is your daily life: your stress, your environment, your habits, and everything around them. That is where health coaching comes in. We work on the root causes behind your symptoms, so you know exactly what to change, and you see it working.

Understand your patterns

See what sets off a flare, and what actually helps you recover, tracked over time so it stops being a guess.

Get to the root, not the label

Sleep, stress, deficiencies, genetics, relationships. The things a doctor visit never has time for, looked at side by side for the first time.

Work with your energy

Pace yourself, protect your good days, and have a plan ready for the flare before it arrives.

Build routines that fit

Small, realistic habits shaped around your real life, built to last.

Walk into appointments ready

Clear on what changed, what didn't, and exactly what you want to ask, so the visit finally works for you.

Feel more in control

Make informed choices and take small, steady steps, until the illness feels like something you can carry.

How we work together

You are not told what to do. We work it out, together.

Weekly, one thing at a time, at the pace your body allows.

1

You tell your story

All of it, in your own words. The years before the diagnosis, not the short version you've learned to give. I read every line before we speak.

2

We connect what was never connected

Your symptoms, your stress, your sleep, your life. Seen together for the first time, so the picture finally makes sense.

3

We change one thing at a time

One change at a time, small enough to hold on a bad week. Even between sessions, I will be with you.

4

You take over

By the end you know your body, your triggers and your plan. You no longer need me. That is the point.

Where I start

The years before it had a name.

A diagnosis has a date. The illness never does. It begins long before: in tiredness that gets called stress, in pain that gets called a bad week, in signals that are easy to push through. Each one is treated on its own, as if it had nothing to do with the last, and the years are never looked at as a whole.

That is where I start.

About me

I didn't choose this work by accident.

Asmaa Gad, smiling, seated on a light sofa, one hand in her hair.

I grew up watching chronic illness shape the lives of the people closest to me, their symptoms starting years before anyone gave them a name. Over 8 years of working with people living with chronic illness and chronic pain, I kept seeing the same thing: no one had taught them how to read what their body was telling them.

You already know your body better than anyone else. OwnMyIllness helps you understand what it is telling you.
